Research Notes:The decision to create Mirande was made in 1281.The town is a typical bastide with a geometrical structure of parallel and perpendicular streets. Sometimes they started from a central square/place. Covered streets surround the square on each side, characterized by a covered market built in the square. Sometimes, however, the square is not in the middle of the town. Most of the bastides were protected by fortifications and closed by doors.
