Notes1A chimney in a room of the castle Lavardens. The castle as it is, is post-medieval, but the fortress and the fortified village were a 14th century residence for the Counts of Armagnac. In 1402 the Count Geraud de Pardiac was detained in the fortress.
Notes2The fortress also played a part in the Hundred Years War.
